Converting our compost bin from the traditional, aerobic decomposition system to a more efficient, less smelly anaerobic system took an hour or so. First, let me know show you what we had to show for our old system. This is what we got when my husband removed our plastic compost bin from the pile. Today the topic is dirty deeds. And by that, I mean making dirt – a process otherwise known as composting. This summer, we put in two raised garden beds. A lot of the cost involved in this little project was the bazillion bags of dirt and compost we had to purchase to fill the beds. A bummer? Yes, but that’s the cost of gardening, right? Wrong, I’m here to tell you, folks, there is a better way to make dirt!
